The Chapter is paying for the bulk of your EPIC experience, including one-of-a-kind private tours with local guides and cultural experts, our learning program, meals, and VIP access to some unique experiences.
As always, YPO Oregon members pay for their flights to/from EPIC as well as their hotel accommodations.
We will be staying at a unique, historic, 4-star boutique hotel in the historic center of Oaxaca City. The room rate includes a private room, breakfast, meeting rooms for forum and some other surprises we have in store. Everything else will be covered by the Chapter.
Note that hotel incidentals including room service, laundry service and hotel bar tabs are not included, and are at your own discretion.
Once you have booked or arranged your flights, please email Janet with a copy of your itinerary so we can coordinate ground transportation for those arriving in Oaxaca. A transfer to and from the airport and hotel will be provided upon arrival and departure.
US citizens are not required to have a visa for tourist visits to Mexico, but are required to show a valid US passport. It is recommended that your passport is valid for six months after your travels are over. On arrival in the airport, you will be issued a visitor’s permit, known as a FMM (Forma Migratoria Multiple).
It is not required to provide COVID-19 testing results or proof of vaccination for entry into Mexico. The United States does require proof of a negative COVID-19 test for reentry. Your COVID-19 test must be taken no sooner than 24 hours prior to your departure. Modern Adventures has arranged a COVID-19 test for you. These will take place at the hotel and we will communicate at what time yours is scheduled.
We are staying in a 16th century convent that was converted to a hotel and is on the Oaxaca historical register. The rooms are very comfortable but vary somewhat in size and layout. But, every member will have a private room and bathroom with a queen bed. Bottled water will be provided in the room. The hotel also has a gym that is available upon reservation and an outdoor pool.
Janet has provided our partner, Modern Adventure, with the dietary restrictions she has on file. If your needs have changed, please contact Janet. Modern Adventure will work hard to try to accommodate dietary restrictions as much as possible.
EPIC is a mandatory event for Chapter members. If you have a conflict arise and need to cancel, please reach out to your chapter officers or Janet. Please note that your hotel booking is non-refundable, and governed by the Terms and Conditions of our travel partner, Modern Adventure.
